Visit Paris - The most romantic of capitals

Paris has been the French capital for over 1000 years and is stylish, sophisticated and romantic. Now so easily accessible by car, rail and air, Paris caters for its visitors well. Sights to see such as Notre Dame, Eiffel Tower, Arc de Triomphe as well as some of Europe's best shops and restaurants on and around the Champs Elysees. Paris has a fantastic achitectural heritage with hidden squares, dominating Gothic and Renaissance buildings, churches, cathedrals and palaces. Disneyland Paris opened in 1992 on the outskirts of the city. Paris has three airports: Charles De Gaulle, Orly and Beauvais, and all are modern efficient operations.

One 'must-see' attraction is the Louvre Museum. The Louvre, in it's successive architectural changes, has dominated central Paris since the late 12th century. Built on the city's western edge, the original structure was gradually engulfed as the city grew. The dark fortress of the early days was transformed into the modernized dwelling of François I and, later, the sumptuous palace of the Sun King, Louis XIV.

As well as the modern pyramid in the courtyard, you can see what is certainly the most famous painting in the world - Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci.
